arnelle: I know off the bat a lot of you will be grossed out by this photo, because it’s feet, and it looks like I stepped in poop. But I’m hoping the majority of you will see past it and read on. Yesterday, @leedialani and I stopped thru a random little beach off the 101 freeway and were awestruck by its beauty. It wasn’t until we got home that we realized we both had immensely thick, sticky blackish brown spots all over our legs and feet. We spent literally about an hour in the shower trying to scrub it all off of ourselves and each other, and found ourselves somewhat unsuccessful. As you can see here, we still have spots on our feet, and that’s again, after about an hour of scrubbing. It was so sticky it even stuck to the shower floor while the water was running. When we put our noses to the spots and smelled them, in a fury to find out what it was, we discovered something awful. It smelled like gasoline and oil. That says it all. If we have the hardest time scrubbing this off our own bodies, imagine what it must be like for the helpless sea creatures that suffer from our irresponsible pollution every day. I’m posting this photo in the hopes that it sparks a little compassion in your hearts to do your part in keeping our world clean, and taking care of Mother Earth and it’s inhabitants.
